Are pianos old technology? Pianos haven't really changed much since Christofori invented them, but… Yamaha Disklavier Player Grand Pianos, have some very entertaining and inovative features that open up a lot of possibilities.

The piano industry has totally changed in the past ten years. Digital pianos are starting to out-sell regular acoustic upright pianos in sales for the past few years. But I thinkYamaha Disklavier is keeping up with the trend.

Some of the interesting features are: A USB port is available on the piano so you can easily download midi songs and plug them right into your player grand, recording features that allow you to see your piano play what you just played and recorded, streaming radio and even karoake.

One of the best things about the Disklavier pianos is that they are using the ipod touch for finding and playing songs on the player piano. You can also connect a tv screen to the player piano, download a rock concert and your piano will play exactly what the artist on the tv is playing at the same time!

If you want to make your own rock concert, use a video camera and record you or someone playing the piano. Play back your recorded video and then watch the piano play right along all by itself exactly what you just played. This is a really great feature for recording piano recitals. Piano teachers can use this feature by reviewing and training on recorded performances. Also, you can sync your piano up with another Yamaha Disklavier that is located on the other side of the town, country or world. What you play is what is played on the other side of the world on that piano and vice versa. (Demonstartion in Video)

These pianos sound pretty pricey, right? Well, since you are talking about a Yamaha piano, yes, they may seem a bit steep, but they come in all different sizes from baby grand to concert grand. Also, the piano industry has been very slow since the economy has been down.Yamaha Piano Dealers are doing what they can, like free upgrades and throwing in a few thousand songs with the piano.

Also, some piano dealers may be able to buy Yamaha Pianos in large shipments with the supply being a bit more plentiful. Piano Gallery in Utah recieves shipments like this a few times a year.

Probably my most favorite part is, you don't have to know your favorite songs on the piano, just let the piano do the playing, then you can watch and learn if you want.
